Sa po\u00e9sie, riche en images et en silences, a souvent inspir\u00e9 des compositeurs pour de nouvelles \u0153uvres vocales.<\/p>\n<p>Les po\u00e8mes courts d\u2019Eielson, notamment extraits de <i>Habitaci\u00f3n en Roma<\/i> ou <i>Mutaciones verbales<\/i>, se pr\u00eatent particuli\u00e8rement bien aux mises en musique pour voix et piano. Leur rythme naturel, leurs silences expressifs et leur profondeur m\u00e9ditative offrent aux compositeurs une grande libert\u00e9 d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation, entre modernit\u00e9 et lyrisme. Ces adaptations traduisent en musique l\u2019intensit\u00e9 \u00e9motionnelle et les m\u00e9taphores puissantes de l\u2019auteur, prolongeant sa vision d\u2019une po\u00e9sie totale.<\/p>\n<p>Ces \u0153uvres musicales r\u00e9v\u00e8lent l\u2019universalit\u00e9 d\u2019Eielson et font vivre son h\u00e9ritage en le transposant dans un univers sonore empreint de nuances et d\u2019intimit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>A l\u2019occasion du centenaire de sa naissance, et en partenariat avec l\u2019Ambassade du P\u00e9rou en France, nous vous proposons de d\u00e9couvrir plusieurs\u00a0 de ses po\u00e8mes au travers d\u2019adaptations pour voix et piano. Parmi ces \u0153uvres, deux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 sp\u00e9cialement compos\u00e9es pour le Festival Sonomundo : <b>Pregunta por las lilas<\/b> et <b>Vocalise. <\/b>Les autres pi\u00e8ces ont fait partie du \u00ab Concert Urbi et Orbi Eielson 2024 \u00bb, con\u00e7u par Luis Rebaza-Soraluz pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer le 100e anniversaire de la naissance du po\u00e8te et plasticien p\u00e9ruvien \u00e0 Lima.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>La participation de Mark Contreras au Festival Sonomundo a \u00e9t\u00e9 rendue possible gr\u00e2ce au soutien du D\u00e9partement de Langues, Litt\u00e9ratures et Cultures du King&#8217;s College de Londres et du Centro Studi Jorge Eielson.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color\"><strong>Note d&#8217;intention<\/strong> : <strong><em>Pregunta por las lilas<\/em>, pour Soprano et Piano (2024)<\/strong> <strong>de P\u00eda Alvarado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph {\"style\":{\"elements\":{\"link\":{\"color\":{\"text\":\"var:preset|color|black\"}}}},\"textColor\":\"black\"} --><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Inspir\u00e9e par la trag\u00e9die grecque \u201cAntigone&#8221; de Sophocle et revisit\u00e9e \u00e0 travers la po\u00e9sie du P\u00e9ruvien Jorge Eduardo <em>Eielson<\/em> (po\u00e8mes XV, XVI, XVIII et XX), cette \u0153uvre nous plonge dans l\u2019histoire d\u2019Antigone, un personnage qui choisit de suivre son devoir humain en enterrant son fr\u00e8re, Polynice, en d\u00e9pit du risque d\u2019\u00eatre elle-m\u00eame enterr\u00e9e vivante. Reli\u00e9e par un continuum pianistique, la pi\u00e8ce nous transporte \u00e0 travers plusieurs images \u00e9vocatrices issues du texte po\u00e9tique : les vastes plaines recouvertes de mousse, les vignes qui les habitent, les cafards solaires, et, enfin, la demande des lilas. La pi\u00e8ce cherche \u00e0 capturer et \u00e0 \u00e9voquer les sonorit\u00e9s ancestrales de l&#8217;Icaro, le chant de gu\u00e9rison des diff\u00e9rentes cultures de la jungle p\u00e9ruvienne, en les adaptant et en les r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tant \u00e0 travers les ressources timbrales et harmoniques de la musique contemporaine. \u00c0 travers la voix, il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;exprimer la spiritualit\u00e9 et le lien profond avec la nature qui caract\u00e9risent les cultures amazoniennes. Dans un quatuor \u00e0 cordes, l&#8217;alto joue g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement le r\u00f4le de voix centrale et forme un pont sonore entre les violons brillants et le violoncelle sonore. Enfin, l&#8217;alto se retrouve sous les feux de la rampe pour une fois ! J&#8217;ai en t\u00eate une \u0153uvre dans laquelle je souhaite me concentrer sur l&#8217;exploration des volumes doux. C&#8217;est l&#8217;occasion de mettre en valeur la subtilit\u00e9 et l&#8217;intimit\u00e9 du son de l&#8217;alto et cela n\u00e9cessite un \u00e9quilibre minutieux entre les instruments et un sens du d\u00e9tail dans l&#8217;interpr\u00e9tation. Les trois cordes entoureront l&#8217;alto comme une ombre et l&#8217;ensemble sera compos\u00e9 de deux fl\u00fbtes (dont la fl\u00fbte alto et la fl\u00fbte basse), d&#8217;une clarinette (dont la clarinette basse), d&#8217;une harpe, de percussions, de deux violons et d&#8217;un violoncelle. J&#8217;esp\u00e8re ainsi cr\u00e9er une nouvelle \u0153uvre avec une riche palette de paysages sonores et de subtiles nuances de timbre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color\"><strong>Note d&#8217;intention :<em> Wayra aux Indes parall\u00e8les<\/em> de Juan Arroyo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph {\"style\":{\"elements\":{\"link\":{\"color\":{\"text\":\"var:preset|color|black\"}}}},\"textColor\":\"black\"} --><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">L\u2019op\u00e9ra-ballet <em>Les Indes Galantes <\/em>(1735-1736), compos\u00e9 par Jean-Philippe Rameau, sur un livret de Louis Fuzelier, a \u00e9t\u00e9 la source d\u2019inspiration pour l\u2019\u00e9criture des quatre chants\u00a0amoureux de <em>Wayra aux Indes parall\u00e8les<\/em>. En particulier la deuxi\u00e8me partie des <em>Indes Galantes<\/em>, intitul\u00e9e <em>Les Incas du P\u00e9rou<\/em>. Au cours de cette entr\u00e9e, le personnage de Phani-Palla, une jeune princesse inca, invoque les dieux pour la lib\u00e9rer de Hu\u00e1scar, pr\u00eatre du soleil, et lui permettre de rejoindre Carlos, le conqu\u00e9rant qu\u2019elle aime tant. Au cours de l\u2019action, Hu\u00e1scar ment \u00e0 Phani-Palla, pr\u00e9tendant qu\u2019elle est l\u2019\u00e9lue pour le rejoindre. Dans le d\u00e9nouement des <em>Incas du P\u00e9rou<\/em>, Hu\u00e1scar est puni par les dieux \u00e0 cause de ses mensonges et meurt englouti par un volcan. Finalement, Phani-Palla et Don Carlos r\u00e9alisent leur souhait d&#8217;union. Mais que se passerait-il si Phani-Palla avait la possibilit\u00e9 de vivre dans des r\u00e9alit\u00e9s parall\u00e8les ? Prendrait-elle la m\u00eame d\u00e9cision dans chacune d&#8217;elles ? Attendrait-elle la volont\u00e9 des dieux ? Chanterait-elle pour l&#8217;amour de Don Carlos ? Telles sont les questions qui ont fait vibrer l&#8217;imagination d&#8217;Arroyo. D\u00e9construisant l&#8217;Aria de Phani, son exotisme baroque, son amour soumis au d\u00e9sir des dieux et des hommes, sa ligne m\u00e9lodique et son langage, Phani-Palla, rebaptis\u00e9e Wayra, offre quatre nouvelles r\u00e9alit\u00e9s \u00e0 son personnage. En m\u2019inspirant de la po\u00e9sie de\u00a0 Yon\u00e9 Noguchi, le premier po\u00e8te japonais \u00e0 publier en anglais et \u00e0 tisser des liens entre l\u2019esth\u00e9tique japonaise et la litt\u00e9rature occidentale, j\u2019ai voulu exprimer des ressentis culturels qui, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la po\u00e9sie et \u00e0 la musique, devient ici un moyen d\u2019immersion et d\u2019empathie, cr\u00e9ant des ponts de d\u00e9couverte entre deux cultures tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes. Les quatre chansons suivent vaguement les diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9tapes de la vie. Elles commencent par <em>Cradle Song, <\/em>une berceuse douce marqu\u00e9e par la tendresse maternelle, mais o\u00f9 l\u2019on devine aussi la m\u00e9lancolie et l\u2019incertitude li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019existence. La deuxi\u00e8me chanson, <em>Right and Left, <\/em>d\u2019o\u00f9 vient l\u2019image du titre \u00ab the Road Between \u00bb \u00e9voque le parcours d\u2019un voyageur qui s\u2019identifie autant au monde de droite qu&#8217;\u00e0 celui de gauche, mais qui suit son propre chemin entre eux. Noguchi utilise ici une simplicit\u00e9 typiquement japonaise, en se servant d\u2019images enfantines pour \u00e9voquer l\u2019innocence et la qu\u00eate d\u2019identit\u00e9. <em>Black Hair<\/em>, la troisi\u00e8me chanson, est une ode \u00e0 l\u2019amour. Le po\u00e8te se laisse envo\u00fbter par les mouvements lents des cheveux noirs de son amante. Des images de la nature renforcent l\u2019admiration qu\u2019il ressent, peut-\u00eatre en \u00e9cho \u00e0 une chanson traditionnelle de geiko portant le m\u00eame titre en japonais. Le cycle se termine avec <em>To the Cicada<\/em>, une ode aux cigales dont le chant marque les \u00e9t\u00e9s au Japon. Ici, leurs cris deviennent une all\u00e9gorie de la trag\u00e9die du cycle de la vie, un \u00e9cho monotone de leur destin in\u00e9luctable. Ces sons repr\u00e9sentent l\u2019impossibilit\u00e9 de changer ce destin, tout comme les derni\u00e8res heures de leur existence. Dans sa solitude, dans le calme de cette complainte obs\u00e9dante &#8211; la partie la plus sombre du recueil &#8211; un vide profond se fait sentir. Des \u00e9motions perturb\u00e9es et brutes qui ne sont jamais enti\u00e8rement comprises, des myst\u00e8res qui persistent, ouvrent la voie \u00e0 d&#8217;autres voyages. Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 d&#8217;un point de vue masculin, Loose Ends est ancr\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sent. \u00c9mergeant d&#8217;un paysage \u00e9motionnel fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 par une perte douloureuse, une libert\u00e9 nouvellement trouv\u00e9e, la promesse (un r\u00eave) d&#8217;un bonheur futur, le personnage se sent indestructible jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 ce qu&#8217;il perde le contr\u00f4le, retombe sur la terre dense avec un bruit sourd et r\u00e9alise que ses tentatives d&#8217;enterrer les souvenirs de son amour perdu sont superficielles et futiles. Une pr\u00e9sence riche est ressentie tout au long d&#8217;Occupations. Un amour imbriqu\u00e9 dans le sien &#8211; interne, tout en \u00e9tant libre ; constamment renvoy\u00e9 en arri\u00e8re pour rappeler ce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 perdu, jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 ce que finalement, il s&#8217;\u00e9chappe, une fois accept\u00e9, peut-\u00eatre. En fin de compte, une certaine forme de r\u00e9solution est trouv\u00e9e. Celui-ci est une utopie : constituer une nuit enti\u00e8re de musique pour cet instrument, que je connais bien pour l\u2019avoir pratiqu\u00e9 moi-m\u00eame pendant de nombreuses ann\u00e9es. Celui-ci sera tant\u00f4t compl\u00e8tement seul (les interpr\u00e8tes se relayant sur sc\u00e8ne tout au long de la nuit), tant\u00f4t accompagn\u00e9 d\u2019ombres ou de reflets multiples (transitions d\u2019un interpr\u00e8te \u00e0 l\u2019autre o\u00f9 les instruments jouent ponctuellement ensemble). L\u2019aust\u00e9rit\u00e9 -ou plut\u00f4t l\u2019\u00e9conomie de moyen- est assum\u00e9e, la dur\u00e9e \u00e9tir\u00e9e permettant de travailler le temps long, de faire intervenir la m\u00e9moire par le jeu des r\u00e9miniscences, des \u00e9chos, des d\u00e9formations \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle, le tout dans la torpeur (sinon le sommeil) de la nuit. Elle devient son-mati\u00e8re et \u00e9tincelle musicale gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa puissance expressive. Le temps s&#8217;\u00e9tire et se r\u00e9tracte.\u00a0 Le po\u00e8me de Gabrielle Althen, incantation lanc\u00e9e dans le vide,\u00a0r\u00e9sonne avec la plainte ancestrale de la Corse.\u00a0Ensemble,\u00a0ils tracent les contours d&#8217;un paysage int\u00e9rieur o\u00f9 la m\u00e9moire se m\u00eale \u00e0 l&#8217;espoir et o\u00f9 je ne peux que me retrouver moi-m\u00eame.&#8221;
